Asset Protection Investigator - Organized Retail Crime [DNV] - Military Veterans

Join our team at Albertsons Companies as an Asset Protection Investigator (API) and play a crucial role in safeguarding our stores from loss and shrinkage. You'll work closely with District Asset Protection Managers (DAPM) to conduct internal and external investigations, with a primary focus on combating Organized Retail Crime (ORC). Your efforts will help deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and other crimes, ensuring a safe and secure environment for our customers, employees, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into ORC activities under the guidance of a DAPM.
- Training: Educate AP staff on ORC trends, targets, and proper procedures for handling ORC subjects.
- Interviews: Collaborate with AP staff to interview ORC suspects, both in-person and via phone.
- Law Enforcement Partnership: Maintain strong working relationships with law enforcement agencies.
- Communication: Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Case Management: Ensure timely and organized completion of cases and reports.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed investigation reports following AP standards.
- CCTV Proficiency: Review, retrieve, and report on CCTV footage from various systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Labor Relations, Human Resources, District Managers, and Operations staff.
- Ethical Environment: Foster positive partnerships with store personnel to promote ethical behavior.
- Compliance: Assist with AP inspections and reviews to ensure adherence to shrink control and cash handling policies.
- AML Audits: Understand and conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) audits.
- Travel: Travel as needed, managing expenses and schedules effectively.
- Safety: Report and address any safety hazards or deficiencies in food safety and handling standards.
- Experience: Preferably 5 years in grocery retail operations.
- Demeanor: Friendly, courteous, and tactful, maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
- Mobility: Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move quickly in emergencies.
- Teamwork: Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
- Documentation: Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate work documentation.
- Alertness: Possess mental alertness, basic math skills, and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
- Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays with a varied schedule.
- Surveillance: Exposure to outdoor conditions during surveillance activities.
- Confrontation: Potential exposure to hostility when apprehending shoplifters.
- The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.00 to $28.00 and comes alongside comprehensive health and welfare benefits, retirement saving options, and paid time off. Hourly rate is based off of experience and other relevant factors.
