The Director, Business Development serves in a non-managing, individual contributor role responsible for two critical, related work streams that are core to MHK's growth strategy:
Approximately 70% of this role will focus on relationship development with the balance on B2B support activities. We seek a collaborative, process-driven and detail-oriented peer-team leader with proven experience delivering results individually and through others. The position will evaluate, refine and drive the execution of our current strategies. It's critical that this individual understands markets served, related technology and the various entities that support Payer and PBM client operations and technology selection or deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Position and detail MHK as a trusted technology partner to Consulting and Industry Associations supporting the Payer and PBM industries. Develop strategic relationships with targeted organizations.
- Develop a structured process to show measurable progression of these relationships, offering a measurable value to MHK, our clients and prospects. This would include actionable market intelligence for MHK supporting increased opportunities to participate in sales opportunities (referrals and / or inclusion in RFI, RFP processes).
- Collaborate with MHK Sales, Client Success and Marketing to leverage these relationships. Educate the teams by identifying and facilitating business opportunities resulting in new and existing client growth and retention.
- Collaborate with MHK Product and Technology teams to structure, negotiate and execute business partnerships enabling enhanced functionality, revenue growth and retention. Oversee the timely execution of key projects or initiatives supporting realization of each business case.
- Own and refine the MHK B2B strategy. Routinely communicate your progress to MHK leadership and key constituents and suggest and pursue additional strategic relationships.
- Serve as a key resource and thought leader.
- Five to ten (5-10) years of experience in a consultative selling role specifically serving the Payer and PBM marketplace
- In-depth knowledge of the health-technology space, specific to Payer workflows and its' solutions-provider landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at various levels within payer organizations.
- Ability to create and execute a business-to-business commercial plan.
- Demonstrated ability to solve often complex challenges.
- Strong organizational and communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results as a peer team leader.
- Experience with Salesforce, MS Teams, Webex and MS Office suite.
- BA or BS Degree preferred.
- The ideal candidate will reside near Tampa, FL or Guilford CT and be able to collaborate onsite as necessary.
- Additional travel to Conferences or Trade Shows may be expected.
- Ability to work effectively across all time zones nationally.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time.

In accordance with applicable Pay Transparency laws, MHK is required to include a reasonable estimate of compensation for this role if hired in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Colorado, or California. The reasonable estimate for base salary will range between $135,000 - $155,000 annually. Please note this information is only an estimate and specific to those hired in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Colorado, or California. Outside of these locations, salary range would be aligned to the candidate's specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
