DIRECTOR-CONFLICT OF INTEREST REVIEW BOARD


To direct the staff and operations of the Conflict of Interest Review Board Office, which is responsible for assuring that all federal regulations regarding research-related disclosure of financial conflicts of interest are upheld.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Implements and communicates UAB policies regarding any potential financial conflicts of interest of personnel responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research
  • Assists members of the Conflict of Interest Review Board and the Institutional Conflict of Interest Review Board including scheduling, planning, and preparing for meetings
  • Ensures prompt and accurate reporting of significant financial interests as required by regulations and UAB policy
  • Performs administrative review of proposals and disclosures to determine if conflicts exist. Advises the Board regarding any findings
  • Assists in developing policies and procedures responding to changing federal regulations and institutional needs
  • Assists with the design and presentation of training required by regulations and UAB policy
  • Serves as liaison between UAB, federal agencies, and UAB personnel. Serves as a UAB representative during audits
  • Oversees office and supervises support staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Annual Salary: $94,375 - $153,355 (salary commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements
