DIRECTOR-CONFLICT OF INTEREST REVIEW BOARD

To direct the staff and operations of the Conflict of Interest Review Board Office, which is responsible for assuring that all federal regulations regarding research-related disclosure of financial conflicts of interest are upheld.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Implements and communicates UAB policies regarding any potential financial conflicts of interest of personnel responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research

Assists members of the Conflict of Interest Review Board and the Institutional Conflict of Interest Review Board including scheduling, planning, and preparing for meetings

Ensures prompt and accurate reporting of significant financial interests as required by regulations and UAB policy

Performs administrative review of proposals and disclosures to determine if conflicts exist. Advises the Board regarding any findings

Assists in developing policies and procedures responding to changing federal regulations and institutional needs

Assists with the design and presentation of training required by regulations and UAB policy

Serves as liaison between UAB, federal agencies, and UAB personnel. Serves as a UAB representative during audits

Oversees office and supervises support staff

Performs other duties as assigned

Annual Salary: $94,375 - $153,355 (salary commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements
