Job Summary:
The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Graduate Programs is seeking a Clinical Title Series (tenure-ineligible) Assistant Professor. This position is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 60% Teaching and Advising, 20% Clinical Practice Activities, 5-10% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 10% Service which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date of July 1, 2025, but no later than September 1, 2025. An earlier start date is subject to negotiation.
This position, based in Lexington, KY, onsite, will assist in the expansion and resource the Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specialty education, teach and practice in the Graduate programs within the College of Nursing. This position requires an individual to provide teaching, advising, mentoring and leadership for the College and University and building scholarly practice related to delivery of care to acute and chronically ill populations in inpatient/outpatient clinical settings. This candidate will contribute to scholarly practice and in advancing nursing professionalism as an advance practice nurse. Candidate will design, implement and evaluate the assigned didactic and clinical courses in the College's graduate programs. They will plan and evaluate student clinical experiences, and guide DNP student projects also serving on advisory committees based on rank. The candidate will engage in an active role within the College of Nursing's scholarly activities including submissions of manuscripts for publications, presentation of scholarly activities in peer-reviewed venues and collaboration with research projects, grant proposals, and evidence-based practice research projects. Additionally, the candidate will provide clinical services as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner ( AGACNP ). The required education and experience include an earned doctoral degree in nursing or doctoral degree in associated field with baccalaureate in nursing and master's degree in nursing. Kentucky Board of Nursing ( KBN ) specialization as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and an active Kentucky license as a registered nurse is also required. Active KBN certification as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner required. A minimum of 2 years of related professional clinical practice nursing experience within the last 5 years.
