Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $75,000-$95,000, commensurate with experience. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Position Summary
This position provides supervision and expertise over dispute resolution services and relevant training programs. The Director will assess intakes for dispute resolution services including confidential consultations, facilitated dialogues, and mediations while strategizing solutions, improving campus climate, making recommendations to leadership, and develop and deliver programming to colleges, academic units, and departments. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic productivity of workplace climates through conflict resolution, fostering an inclusive and equitable campus climate.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as human resources, organizational development, education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in dispute resolution, mediation certification, organizational development, or a related area.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting needs assessments and making data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs and workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to UIC's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or other advanced degree in Law, Conflict Resolution, Compliance, or Legal Studies.
- Certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Conflict Management, Workplace Mediation or DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Strategies from a recognized institution.
- Experience in Federal and State Compliance Regulations related to workplace disputes, grievance procedures, and faculty/staff rights (e.g., ADA, Title IX, Title VII).
- Experience in change leadership as it pertains to fostering a climate of equity, access, and inclusion.
