Regional Fleet Manager - Military Veterans

GardaWorld Cash Services, one of the nation's largest cash services and armored car companies is seeking to fill a Regional Fleet Manager role.
JOB PURPOSE: The position of Regional Fleet Manager is responsible for managing all vehicle related support services provided to the Garda cash in transit fleet and related support vehicles to include; vehicle maintenance, license and title actions, vehicle records, DOT compliance (vehicle related only), environmental issues related to vehicles and vehicle operation, and any other task directly or indirectly related to vehicle or fleet operations.
DUTIES:
- Develop Garda's fleet strategy and management plans in line with entrepreneurial culture.
- Ensure fleet policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Advise corporate senior management on all aspects of fleet support operations.
- Interact with regional management at all levels on all aspects of fleet support operations.
- Directly supervise the daily activities of assigned employees. Indirectly supervise the actions of all in house vehicle maintenance staff.
- Manage performance on key cost factors including safety performance, staffing, asset usage, fuel compliance, preventative maintenance, projects and vendor usage.
- Interact with Corporate department heads and their staff in matters related to vehicles and the corporate fleet.
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
- Conduct employee training session on subjects such as material handling, employee orientation, quality improvement and technical support training.
- Participate in disciplinary process or settlements of grievances.
- Manage a full operating budget, utilizing budgeting and cost containment skills, for distribution and transportation functions.
- Establish various management tools to improve cost management.
- Interact with suppliers and vendors of products and services for the Garda Cash In Transit (CIT) fleet. Previous experience in negotiating fleet asset acquisition and leasing agreements, service level agreements and contracts are required.
- Interact with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives to obtain the best designed equipment possible for the fleet and monitor the fleet performance parameters to determine potential problem areas. Manage the Garda portion of the vendor operated CIT truck body refurbishment process.
- Serve as the visible representative of the Garda Vehicle Services Division to the truck crews; meet with the crews, solicit their input on fleet issues and seek their guidance for recommended improvements to the CIT truck body design.
- Possess strong technical and solid business analysis skills: in depth knowledge of current fleet management and maintenance related information technologies, systems and concepts and their application to the CL/CIT fleet.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five years' experience of successful, progressive leadership and management experience in fleet management, supply chain, or a related field.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent plus documented technical training applicable to vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Multiple region/site leadership and management experience.
- Business and financial acumen; must be able to develop functional strategies, plans, budgets and analyze performance and financial reports.
- Technical knowledge in vehicle systems to include power plant, transmission, drive train, brakes, electrical, air conditioning, and body repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose vehicle mechanical problems and make effective and proper repairs as needed.
- Ability to operate office equipment to include electronic data entry devices.
- Ability to operate electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
- Function efficiently and effectively with minimal daily supervision.
- Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
- The ability to effectively train, mentor, coach, direct, instruct subordinates in a workplace environment.
- Able to function effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Knowledge of the basic business fundamentals of customer service, profit/loss, cost control and cost management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Direct the activities of one or more VSD maintenance shops and oversee the services provided by vendors to GCL operations. Monitor the health, welfare, and performance of VSD employees while on the job. Hire, train, discipline employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Variable. This position requires the incumbent to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of lighting and weather conditions including but not limited to heat, sun, rain, snow, and ice. This position requires the incumbent to wear personal safety equipment such as protective glasses, ear protection, face shield, gloves, and back belt.
