Salary: $160,000-180,000/yr

As a Senior Scientist within our Mass Spectrometry team, you will play a pivotal role in both client projects and internal R&D initiatives. You will be part of a collaborative scientific community dedicated to delivering top-tier proteomics analyses to a broad international clientele. Responsibilities



  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, quality control, and troubleshooting of mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography equipment in collaboration with the MS team.

  • Method Development: Create and refine LC-MS methods for both multiplexed discovery (e.g., Isobaric tagging, LF, DDA, DIA) and targeted analyses.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Customize proteomics approaches through regular interaction with neighboring scientific departments.

  • Resource Management: Assist the COO with resource management and capacity planning to ensure timely, budget-compliant project delivery.

  • Data Analysis: Engage in MS data analysis and work closely with the Bioinformatics team to explore innovative data interpretation techniques.

  • Client Engagement: Provide technical consulting, develop project proposals, and present data to clients.

  • Leadership: Potentially manage customer projects and lead small teams.



Qualifications



  • Educational Background: Ph.D. with 5 years, MS with 10 years, or BS with 15 years of relevant industry experience.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry and LC equipment (especially Orbitrap and Thermo Fisher instruments).

  • Proteomics Expertise: Experience with multiplexed discovery proteomics experiments and post-translational modification analysis.

  • Method Development: Familiarity with targeted SRM and PRM methods; experience with metabolites and small molecules is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Open-minded, flexible, problem-solving mindset; strong communication skills in multidisciplinary teams and client settings.

  • Leadership Experience: Advantageous to have team management and project leadership experience.
