The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Distribution, this person will support the Manhattan / Scale system efforts related to our Apex Distribution Center (ADC) to drive continuous improvement and implement strategic changes within our network designed to meet future goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the Manhattan/Scale WMS system to include configuration to upgrade the movement of goods in the building while providing daily support to the operation as needed. This role will ensure we meet established KPIs to help reduce costs, maintain optimal performance and increase overall efficiency of the ADC.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Ensure all engineering WMS (Scale) initiatives and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives
  • Lead project management efforts to help drive to strategic plans to expand and modernize the distribution network
  • Drive labor standards in the ADC and the staffing tools utilized to optimize labor
  • Support Scale WMS design that will support facility modifications to achieve company strategic goals
  • Continuous analysis of the Manhattan/Scale system to find and drive process improvement ideas that will improve the flow of work through the DC.
  • Conduct work measurement analysis by gathering information on actual labor hours worked and completed production units to compare the relationship between labors hours vs. quantity output/work performed
  • Remain current and relevant in skill sets and knowledgebase of WMS systems to investigate and analyze and opportunities to improve the flow of work through the DC.


The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • BS in Engineering, Business or a related discipline, Masters is preferred. Previous Management experience of Engineering Department or similar preferred
  • 2+ Years operating in a DC with the Manhattan/Scale WMS.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement Experience
  • Labor Standards Development and Maintenance Experience
  • Experienced SAP user (or similar ERP System); AS 400 experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel 10-20% - local travel
