Job Summary
We’re looking for a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist to join our PharmScript team within our Pharmacy Floor department. As a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist, the candidate functions as a support to all procurement activities of the department.
The ideal candidate is a people person who enjoys troubleshooting and resolving problems and is dedicated to helping customers. For you, no task feels too small and no challenge impossible. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and is an effective communicator. They are always a team player, eager to jump in where needed and collaborate with others to support the goals of the pharmacy and needs of customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of all pharmacy supplies
- Assists in procurement of pharmaceuticals (ie: Owes/Partials, etc.)
- Follows purchasing guidelines and maintains accuracy
- Processes returns to vendors
- Performs audits on medications to maintain accuracy (Negative on Hand, Daily Cycle Counts, etc.)
- Maintain and Monitor Deadstock/Overstock list which contains items to be transferred to other pharmacies
- Reviews excess inventory and works to keep it low
- Follow through with managements decisions and complete task in a timely manner
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to achieve a 99% order fulfillment rate
- Maintain pharmacy inventory levels at or below 22 days on hand
- Ensure pharmacy is performing monthly reverse distribution for expired and damaged pharmaceuticals
- Receive pharmaceuticals into a perpetual inventory application and help maintain an accurate pharmacy formulary when necessary
- Process medications that are returned from the facilities when necessary
- In conjunction with the PIC manage pharmacy quarterly inventory. Including but not limited to; following all SOPs, preparing the pharmacy for inventory, managing the inventory day of, researching and explaining inventory variances, and preparing all required reporting
- Follow through with managements decisions and complete task in a timely manner.
- Flexible work schedule to order around inventory vendors’ cutoff times
- Work with the Centralized Purchasing department to determine potential additional responsibilities
- Other duties set by management
Qualifications
- Able to work independently as well as in a diverse, team environment
- Reliable, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor
- 2 years of pharmacy experience, purchasing experience a plus
- High school or equivalent
Certifications/Licenses
- Registered technician or registration in process unless required by the applicable state.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently
- May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
- May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
