Job Description:

System Administrator:

As a member of our team, you'll contribute to IS Security Management and oversight of our Highly Classified information systems in support of Sponsor/Program needs. You'll join an impressive team of technical specialists who are motivated by one common goal. We are passionate about supporting our Program needs. You'll be an active contributor to the safeguarding of all PARSONS Sponsor network systems. With your help, we will provide information assurance, system administration, and systems engineering for mainly Windows and some Linux-based systems in multiple highly classified facilities. You'll independently identify and solve technical issues relating to Information Assurance system hardening (ensuring system availability, integrity, authentication and confidentiality).

As a System Administrator team member you will:


Collaborate with Information system Security Officer (ISSO) on the managed implementation of NISPOM, DAAPM, RMF, STIG, and PARSON security measures and requirements. This collaboration includes oversight as well as cooperation to ensure that security measures do not interfere with program deadlines and deliverables: protection of all classified information, encryption, authentication, logging, auditing, and intrusion detection. Determine necessary computer and software configurations for compliance with security requirements. Prepare for and support periodic security inspections. 

Work with the ISSM/ISSO to verify technical, management and documentation controls, and manage exceptions and POAMs.

Monitor Systems to ensure proper operation and respond to user help requests. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Establish new user accounts and provide technical briefing to new users. Support facility and resident classified and unclassified IT needs. 

Configure, install and maintain Windows and Linux computer systems in a stand-alone and network environments. Plan and execute software maintenance and upgrade tasks for servers, workstation and network software. Provide system administrator support for dedicated projects. Provide system and software configuration documentation as needed. 

You will lock down Windows/Linux computers in a mixed environment based upon classified security requirements

Participate in planning of facility, computer hardware, and software upgrades (including purchases) in order to support user needs. Work with users to gather requirements and provide information to vendors. Work with vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and implement new capabilities. 

Maintain and upgrade network hardware and software to ensure computer systems properly interface with internal and external networks.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you

  • Have 2+ years of experience working with Information Systems. Experience should include designing, building, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Virtualization, Linux and/or Windows workstations and servers.

  • Demonstrable experience in POAM documentation and milestone completion.

  • Provide input to security relevant documentation such as security DISA STIG’s, SCAP tool, Nessus, System Security Plans, etc.

  • Hands on VMWare ESXi 6 or higher virtualization experience

  • Hands on experience with active directory group policy management

  • Experience working in a classified computer facility in information, intelligence, or security areas.

  • Strong understanding of computer software, operating systems, hardware components and architectures.

  • Develop complex solution for LAN and WAN environments.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with managers and technical staff.

  • Experience conducting risk assessments.

  • Strong written communication and report writing abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Log review experience

  • Current DoD 8570 certification (Security+).

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you

  • Have demonstrated experience working with the following technologies: Windows Server 2012/2016 administration and deployment, Windows 10 administration and deployment, Windows 2012/2016 Active Directory and Group Policy Management, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7.

  • Experience with Virtualization experience with vSphere (vCenter/ESXi hosts) and troubleshooting virtual machine/operating systems in virtual environments.

  • Experience with creating, updating, and executing basic scripting – batch, PowerShell, BASH, Python

  • Experience with technology used to satisfy NIST requirements, such as Anti-Malware, Vulnerability scanning software, Ivanti, Splunk, or  etc.

  • Monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

  • Process oriented and has experience working with formal change control processes

  • Skilled in Cisco networking equipment.

  • Experience with security auditing and configuration management tools

Salary Range: 

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
