Immediate opening for an Associate Research Scientist with Professor Marianna Maiaru at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Department of Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics. Working for the Principal Investigator for the ICME: Optimization of Advanced Components of the Aurora D8 project, the successful candidate will conduct leading-edge research in ICME, computational and experimental mechanics for composite structures, with the following responsibilities: Developing numerical models for process modeling of fiber-reinforced composite structures Developing experimental techniques to advance process modeling of fiber-reinforced composite structures Reports and manuscripts writing, weekly meeting and project dissemination PhD student mentoring Grant writing PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computational Engineering, or related field. Minimum one year experience as postdoctoral research scientist, knowledge in computational mechanics, experimental mechanics, and computational micromechanics. Experience in Fortran, Python, and Matlab programming. This appointment is funded by ICME: Optimization of Advanced Components of the Aurora D8 and PI startup funds. The appointment period is subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
