With thirteen John Deere dealerships, five NAPA parts locations and a Supply Store, we are looking for motivated and talented people to join our team.
Purpose:
Manage the sales activities for a specific region or customer segment including the implementation of the Sales Department objectives and sales processes for complete goods. Responsible for all sales metrics for a specific region or segment. Attracts, retains, and effectively coaches department personnel.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for the new and used Market Share performance in assigned counties, especially with large ag equipment and technology
- Manages and coaches Sales Professionals in a specific region and/or customer segment to ensure resource activity execution is aligned with intended goals and outcomes
- Ensures sales metrics and goals are met for a specific region or customer segment primarily through Sales Checklists
- Creates development plans for direct reports which includes identifying training needs
- Oversee and ensure effective ownership of assigned customers and the respective relationships to capitalize on sales opportunities and market share
- Works with Corporate Service and Corporate Parts Managers to promote customer satisfaction
- Manages budgets for a specific region or customer segment, in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectives
- Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for direct reports
- Manages sales department equipment including vehicles and sales office equipment
- May develop and implement incentives plans for sales team and customers
- Assist with creating the Sales Department business plan for their respective region
- May oversee used and new wholegoods inventory levels and metrics
- Use sales scorecard and performance metrics to drive performance of self and assigned sales team members
- Establish and communicate regional and territory specific initiatives and activities
- Manage Sales Professionals territory management to strengthen key customer relationships and drive the activity that leads to sales via selling/negotiating processes
- Coach and support skill development and career planning; evaluate performance
- Ensures that a consistent sales process is followed for their region or customer segment
- Ensures the sales document process is established and followed by sales team members for their region or customer segment
- Provides input to the Marketing Manager in the development of the wholegoods marketing strategy for their region or customer segment
- Works with other Division Sales Managers to identify and execute best practices
- 3+ years of successful sales experience selling ag equipment or working with related equipment is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of agricultural, application and turf equipment as well as farming or operational practices preferred
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, both written and verbal
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelors degree in business or agriculture-related field is preferred
- All weather conditions
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Lifting at least 75 pounds
- Office and Workshop setting
- Travel as needed
