Program Assistant - AED Operations | Harper College - Military Veterans

Performs general program operations and communications to provide continuity of services for diverse AED community during evening hours. Assists in implementing student assessment/testing/placement and registration processes for AED students. Assists with data collection, student and instructor class logistics and communications. Assists with AED student assessment/placement/orientation. Refers students to support services and assists with placement. Collaborates with Data and Reporting Assistant to maintain accurate and timely data in DAISI Adult Education database. Collaborates with Assessment and Placement Specialist to monitor student assessment (pre/post) on an ongoing basis. Refers special needs students to the AED Instruction and Learning Specialist for assistance. Meets with students who need to be transitioned to other learning options. Communicates and coordinates student transfers. Assists with beginning of semester set up and welcoming of teachers and students at sites and on campus. Assists in maintaining up to date data regarding class size in relation to space and student-teacher ratio: communicates information to supervisor. Assists with the development of recruitment strategies and prepares/distributes flyers, brochures, and communications as necessary. Communicates with inquires in evening hours through email and telephone. Collaborates with AED team for continuity of services across hours and sites. Performs related duties as assigned. Education: High School Diploma/Completion and Computer skills certificate Experience: 3 years responsible clerical work in an educational environment required. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products. Is able to work in a fast-paced environment and with a diverse population of students. Bilingual preferred.
