We are especially interested in candidates who critically explore one of the following: Educational psychology Psychology of Black communities Black mental health (Africana centered psychology, culturally grounded healing strategies in coping with anti-Black racial trauma/stress and community violence) Environmental Racism and/or Justice Required Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Africana/Black Studies with a specialization in Africana/Black Psychology or a Ph.D./Psy.D. in Psychology/Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Africana/Black Psychology and/or Black community-based approaches to mental health from an accredited institution. Grounding in Black Psychology theoretical and Africana Studies disciplinary approaches A defined research agenda that contributes to Africana-centered scholarship, with a particular emphasis in an area of Black Psychology Advocacy and commitment to social justice and service to the Africana community Evidence of or potential for effective teaching in-person and/or online Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective engagement OR potential to engage with a diverse student body Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students Experience implementing or researching culturally grounded Africana healing practices in coping with anti-Black racial trauma such as Sawubona, Sankofa, art therapy, radical healing, or other Africana healing practices Ability to bring student cultural and/or lived experiences into the classroom to create a student-centered environment Research/Lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring Application Deadline: Preferred application deadline is January 20, 2025 .
