Requisition Number: 2024 - 417 Business Unit: College of Nursing Department: CON-Student Services 50001250 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: The UNMC College of Nursing is seeking an applicant for a full-time 12-month faculty position for the MEMMP . We are seeking a candidate who will subscribe to our ITEACH values of the UNMC . The full-time Assistant Director in the MEMMP reports to the Director of the MEMMP . The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with supervision of the program mentors, graduate assistants, and peer mentors as directed by the Director and will be responsible for a mentoring caseload. The Assistant Director will also collaborate with the Director and take the lead on programming for the MEMMP including service projects, leadership seminars, orientation for new scholars, workshop presentations and other tasks as assigned by the Director. Administrative Responsibilities Collaborate with the Director to facilitate the Mentor Meetings in conjunction with the administrative assistant. Collaborate with the Director to facilitate community engagement to explore opportunities for scholars and clinical partners. facilities Collaborate with the Director to monitor budget Assist the Director with managing students challenges and emergencies. Maintain active, responsive, and positive communication with, nursing liaison, staff, GAs, peer mentors, and other university members as needed Actively participate in the maintenance of a culture of transparency, trust, accountability, and belonging. Assist with supervising approximately 12 15 Mentors Mentor approximately 3-6 Scholars per year Arrange and lead monthly Support Groups across all five campuses Oversee and arrange content-specific tutoring sessions and study groups Supervise Graduate Assistants and Peer Mentors across all five campuses Collaborate with nursing faculty and student success team to address the needs of the Mahoney Scholars and other nursing students Provide support, through office hours and other means, to ensure every scholar is involved in a positive educational experience through learning, teaching, and intellectual engagement Oversee data collection and reporting of program outcomes All duties of this position stretch across all five campuses. Scholarship/Teaching Responsibilities Teach one course section per academic year and as assigned based on need in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs Or Demonstrate commitment to professional currency through an annual review of activities and accomplishments related to excellence in teaching, scholarship, practice, or service. Elicit, support, and implement mentoring best practices to ensure program objectives are achieved. Service Responsibilities Participate in development and maintenance of competency-based education curriculum Participate in college and university meetings, committees, and activities Participate and assist in college faculty shared organization. Maintain relevancy in discipline through professional development. Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations. Maintain certifications, if applicable, to continue currency in the field Required Qualifications: Graduate degree in nursing required, Active unencumbered NE RN license Proficient with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom, 3-5 years of experience as a Nursing faculty Prior experience mentoring/advising of students Effective communicator, problem solver, and innovator, Program evaluation experience preferred Supplemental Qualifications: Well organized and efficient in time management. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Demonstrate excellent oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be self-directed, exercise strong independent judgement, and function with minimal supervision while administering technology related programs. Demonstrate management and leadership skills. Ability to work independently as well as effectively in teams. Autonomous in initiating desired work product. Ability to articulate ideas and communicate with a variety of community members and project members. Ability to develop and monitor widely varying details of technology related programs. Must maintain and respect confidentiality of information. Interpersonal skills that support an environment of respect, transparency, and sense of belonging Working knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures and CON policies and procedures in student services settings. Support efforts that promote a culture of inclusion and belongings. Salary Range: Salary Commensurate with Experience
