Job Summary and Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator in Occupational and Employee Health coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care by supporting the comprehensive Occupational and Employee Health Program(s), designed to promote employee wellness, maintain productivity, decrease absenteeism, and promote cost containment. The RN assists with the clinical functions of the program(s), including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing, and surveillance.
What will you do in this role:
Participates in all aspects of the Occupational and Employee Health & Safety Program(s). Provides quality care to employees in accordance with corporate/hospital policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
Performs pre-employment screenings, annual health screenings and tests, and immunizations.
Serves as the initial source of medical evaluation and reporting for employee work-related illnesses and injuries and assigns employee to appropriate level of care. Provides consultation and first aid and schedules therapy, rehabilitation, and/or work restrictions as needed.
Serves as case manager for work-related exposure, injury, or illness. Evaluates and investigates all incidents, coordinates medical interventions and work absence/light duty assignments, and conducts follow-up to determine appropriate resolution.
Promotes interdisciplinary approach for the identification, tracking, and resolution of employee health issues.
Maintains all logs, periodic reports, employee files, and databases.
Provides necessary employee health education on wellness initiatives, safe work practices, and occupational health programs.
What qualifications you will need:
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in Virginia and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Associate Degree or RN Diploma required. BSN preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- 2 + years of RN experience required with Employee/Occupational Health RN experience preferred.
- Occupational Health Nurse Certification (COHN) preferred.
