Position Summary Position will be responsible for assisting with laboratory workflows in a research wet-lab setting. Performs PBMC isolation and research sample check-in within selected software under direction from supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
- Conducts PBMC isolation inside a Biosafety Hood.
- Conducts multiple sample check-in workflows utilizing Freezer Works software.
- Performs DNA extraction from blood, cells or other human biological material.
- Conducts Quality Control on samples utilizing NanoDrop, TapeStation, Qubit, etc.
- Maintains sample integrity by utilizing current software for data entry.
- Assures compliance with established safety procedures.
- Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.Â
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range $16.54 - $22.35 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
