LEO is looking for a confident, fact based self-starter who enjoys handling a variety of tasks simultaneously and quickly with a high attention to detail. LEO's Dissemination Associate will be a part of the Policy and Impact team and will project manage LEO's efforts to disseminate and share LEO research throughout the country. The disseminate associate will also drive forward strategic projects within the Policy and Impact team and own the reporting systems and metrics used to measure the impact of LEO's work with stakeholders.

The Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame is a research center dedicated to reducing poverty and improving lives in the United States through evidence-based programs and policies. We are dedicated to

We respond by building evidence to uncover solutions that reflect an environment of opportunity for all people. We diligently pursue what works to reduce poverty with a hopeful confidence that evidence enlightening action will alter the path ahead.


Who we need:
We are looking for someone who wants to change the face of poverty in our country and believes that impacting poverty is possible. The Dissemination Associate's top priorities will be:

  • Comprehensive Project Management- project manage efforts to disseminate LEO research including:
    • Own the relationships with nonprofit and government partners with whom LEO has built evidence and leveraging those relationships to get our collective work used impactfully
    • Own and drive forward philanthropic 'use evidence' efforts, helping philanthropists identify organizations with proven interventions and providing customized materials for stakeholders as needed
    • Collaborate with researchers and the communications team to develop effective dissemination plans tailored to diverse audiences, staying informed about trends and best practices in policy dissemination and public engagement and identifying opportunities to amplify the impact of the organization's work through targeted outreach efforts
    • Manage email campaigns, newsletters, and other digital distribution tools to share findings
  • Drive forward strategic projects on behalf of the Associate Director of Policy and Impact including long term planning, budgeting and outreach. Responsibilities would include:
    • Project management, budget forecasting and analysis for specific strategic initiatives
    • Coordinate logistics for dissemination events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant communication
    • Specific outreach responsibilities for high level stakeholders
  • Own the reporting, systems, and metrics processes for the Policy and Impact Team including any funder reporting, strategic plan reporting, team metrics and measuring the impact of LEO's work across all stakeholders:
    • Maintain a database of contacts and dissemination activities for tracking and reporting purposes
    • Coordinate logistics for dissemination events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant communication
    • Conduct annual 'people impacted' project to measure and analyze the impact of LEO's work on people served by providers, policy changes and philanthropy impact work
  • Coordinate cross team and cross project efforts to ensure all Policy and Impact work is integrated with LEO's project development work, research agenda and long term goals
    • Collaborate with policy, project development and research teams to ensure efforts are coordinated and efficient
    • As LEO's state and replication work increase, coordinate across teams to achieve LEO's goals


Please note: This is a five-year, limited-term position. Contingent on funding, the position may be extended.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and strategic skills, written and oral communication skills, demonstrated project management experience, and an ability to grasp and distill complicated topics across a variety of different topics and audience

Skills:
  • A deep commitment to the mission of both LEO and the University is necessary
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple demands and projects simultaneously
  • Clear and demonstrated project management skills particularly focused on long-term outcomes and strategic planning efforts.
  • Ability to write and communicate both to a variety of internal and external audiences, particularly experience with social service providers.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues and intricate research effectively
  • Commitment to ensuring LEOs impact moves far beyond academic audiences.
  • Self-directed, with willingness to see a project through from start to finish to achieve strategies and goals of LEO.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead events such as briefings, conferences and webinars.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred:
  • Project management experience with track record of coordinating researchers and non- profit partners with competing priorities
  • Experience working within a University setting
