Director of Recruitment and Enrollment - College of Fine Arts - School of Drama | Carnegie Mellon University - Military Veterans

The School of Drama is seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of Recruitment and Enrollment to lead efforts in recruiting and enrolling students into our BFA and MFA programs. This role is ideal for an individual with academic recruitment and admissions experience who has a deep appreciation for the performing arts. The School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University is a leader in the education of artists in the field of dramatic arts. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated individual who shares our values and mission to contribute to the continued success of the School and our students. Core Responsibilities: Recruitment Strategy : Develop and implement strategic recruitment efforts for undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with the Office of Admissions. Represent the School of Drama at national and virtual recruitment fairs and conferences. Audition Coordination : Oversee the management of audition pre-screenings, scheduling, and execution of virtual and in-person auditions, ensuring a smooth experience for ~2,000 applicants and ~1,000 auditions annually. Audition Tour Leadership : Plan and execute the annual audition tour to key cities including Pittsburgh, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Admissions and Communications : Collaborate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to process and admit students, managing admissions records, communication, and documentation. Campus Visits & Interviews : Coordinate campus and virtual visits for prospective students and their families. Conduct interviews and group presentations to engage with prospective applicants. Supervision and Training : Train and supervise School of Drama ambassadors (student tour guides) to provide a welcoming and informative experience for potential students. Required Skills and Competencies: Cultural Sensitivity & Diversity : A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Strong Communication : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders. Attention to Detail : Ability to manage large volumes of applications and admissions data with a high degree of accuracy and organizational skill. Problem-Solving and Composure : Proven ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism, handling multiple priorities while maintaining a calm demeanor. Teamwork & Collaboration : Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners, including international institutions and organizations. Time Management : Capacity to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Additional Qualities: Passion for the performing arts and commitment to excellence in higher education. Flexibility and adaptability in responding to a dynamic, evolving work environment.
