Job Summary: PLNU is looking for a Media Services Technician to manage and maintain the university's audio and video technology infrastructure which encompasses classrooms, conference rooms, and large event venues. You will be a team member of the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. You will be a great teammate who is willing to take direction but also shows initiative and can work independently. You will be a fast learner who is willing to ensure that audio and video systems are fully operational, providing technical and customer support, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. The role will also coordinate the planning and installation of new or upgraded equipment, either independently or through third-party AV vendors to ensure the successful delivery of AV services across the institution. Salary: The level and rate for this position will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications and background. Job Status: Full time *** Job Description: What We're Looking For: Experience and knowledge of Audio & Video technology and concepts in classrooms, conference rooms, and large event venues. Proficiency in technical understanding of classroom and large venue audio and video systems. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, planning, customer service, adaptability to learn new technologies, and a self-learner. Self-motivated and able to work with regular check-ins and supervision from department leaders or teammates to communicate back progress and updates. Enthusiastic, passionate, and strong work ethic! Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail. Strong verbal and communication skills! Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred What You'll Be Doing: Oversee the operation and maintenance of existing AV technology in classrooms, conference rooms, and large event venues. Install, operate and troubleshoot sound and video systems for PLNU events and constituents Work in collaboration with your supervisor to identify strategic and technical vision for Media Service's events and operations. Provide timely response to support and troubleshooting to address AV system issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Plan and execute the lifecycle management of AV equipment, including upgrades and replacements for classrooms, conference rooms and large venue spaces. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation of new AV systems or upgrades, either independently or in partnership with third-party vendors. Supervise and coordinate AV vendors, ensuring project timelines, scopes, and quality standards are met. Assist in designing and planning AV solutions that meet the university's evolving needs. Provide training to staff and students and documentation for each unique media event space Provide support, documentation and training to the university community Qualifications: 2-3 years experience supporting, installing and troubleshooting AV equipment and installations. Strong knowledge of AV technology, including hardware, software, and integration. Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining complex AV systems. Proven ability to manage AV projects and coordinate with vendors. Strong documentation, communication, customer service and relational skills Strong organizational skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions. Preferred Skills: Certification in AV technologies (e.g., CTS, CTS-D). Experience in an educational or large organizational setting supporting audio and video needs. Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant . Physical Requirements: Work is part sedentary as well as physical and may require sitting, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read and edit documents, spreadsheets, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, email and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds throughout the day.
