Job Summary

We’re looking for an Admissions Pharmacy Technician to join our PharmScript team within our Data Entry department. As an Admissions Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible ensuring that the insurance plan information is set up and for the entry and processing of medication orders for newly admitted patients for long term care facilities into the pharmacy operating system. Pharmacy technicians are expected to have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment, must be dependable, possess a strong work ethic and have reliable attendance. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and is an effective communicator. They are always a team player, eager to jump in where needed and collaborate with others to support the goals of the pharmacy and the needs of customers.


Responsibilities

  • Admissions Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for creating and updating patient profiles for newly admitted patients
  • Responsible for the entry and processing of medication orders for newly admitted patients via Pharmacy’s operating system
  • All tasks and duties must be completed in accordance with the department standards for productivity and accuracy
  • All tasks and duties must be completed in compliance with HIPPA guidelines, State and Federal laws and current company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Long Term Care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare Part D, Medicaid, Medicaid HMO plans, & commercial insurances.
  • Knowledge of Brand/Generic medications and Sig codes required
  • Knowledge of Framework or Docutrack a plus

Certifications/Licenses

  • Must be a registered pharmacy technician in the applicable state

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that should be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittently
  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
  • May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
