Systems Engineer - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA.

Like learning about new systems and leading-edge weapon systems capabilities? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and development tools in support of the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Program. Along the way, advise the Government by researching new concepts and technologies and developing new Fleet capabilities. Help design, review and contribute to the Navy's new system, SLCM-N.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Providing Systems Engineering support for the evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLCM-N at NSWCDD supporting Strategic Systems Programs.
  
• Performing a range of analysis or review tasks related to new designs and implementations of the Laboratories and Building spaces for SLCM-N.
  
• Coordinating and work closely with other engineering and management disciplines to define new requirements.
  
• Supporting System Engineering related meetings and track project status.
  
• Developing, maintaining and producing technical documentation and building/lab specifications.
  
• Directing interface and liaison with customers at all levels from design and layout activities, through completion and check out of the final build/modification.
  
• Verifying and complying with engineering documentation standards related to SLCM-N Developments.
  
• Performing all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines of the SOW, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
  
• In addition, six years of engineering experience with a DoD major weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems program. Experience in concept definition, DoDAF compliant architecture development, requirements definition, and initial and detailed system design activities. Systems engineering experience focused on requirements development and management of software systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis, and documentation of complex systems involving DOD weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems.
  
• Two (2) years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems to include current Navy programs such as SLBM and Aegis.
  
• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  
• Experience with engineering tools such as DOORS, Change Synergy, and System Architect.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Naval Weapons System Development and Deployment
  
• Experience working with managing software/hardware developments for major weapons system.
