Clinical Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Professor - Medicine-Pediatrics Physician Position Number: 001617 Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Anticipated Recruitment Range: Commensurate with Qualifications Position Type: Faculty (Teaching) Job Category: Faculty (Physician) Organizational Unit Overview: It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative sub-specialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region. Job Duties: The Adult and Pediatric Health Care (APHC) practice is staffed by physicians trained in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. This individual will have opportunities to provide wellness, chronic disease management, and acute care to adults and children seeking medical care in the primary care medical home. The provider reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics through the Division Chief of Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and is responsible for providing medical services to infants, children, adolescents and Adults in the outpatient clinics. In addition, direct supervision and teaching of resident physicians in our Internal Medicine training program is expected. Additional duties are available, including Clinical work in the Internal Medicine and Pediatric inpatient services, which also includes direct supervision and teaching of resident physicians and medical students. Opportunities to participate in clinical research are available, but not mandatory. Minimum Education/Experience: MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina. Board Certified or eligible for board certification. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Must be board certified, or eligible to sit for the certifying examination in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Must also be board certified, or eligible to sit for the certifying examination in General Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina.
