Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Instructor, Psychiatry, Adult Outpatient (OPD) - Military Veterans

Our adult outpatient psychiatry service is expanding, and we are looking for a clinical social worker (LCSW) who welcomes the challenge and satisfaction of providing behavioral health care to a diverse population in collaboration with a motivated group of clinicians, researchers, and educators. Our social workers provide clinical services and may also contribute to academic activities such as, teaching, providing supervision and research.
The clinician will serve as a Clinical Social Worker in our adult outpatient clinic located in the newly renovated Putnam Hall on the South Campus of Stony Brook University and may include integration with medical subspecialty areas. Responsibilities include direct patient care including needs assessments, diagnostic evaluations, individual and group psychotherapy.
Shifts totaling forty hours per week, including the possibility of evening hours. Hybrid work model available with 25-50% of appointments/work via telehealth.
Required Qualifications:
MSW (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited Social Work Education School. New York State LCSW licensure. Knowledge and experience providing evidenced based psychotherapy including cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy to adult patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
SIFI certified. Experience training social work interns. Experience providing care via telehealth videoconferencing platform. At least 3 years post licensure experience of conducting intake assessments, group therapy, and individual therapy.
