The Department of Surgery, Division of Breast Surgery at Stony Brook Medicine, is recruiting a fellowship trained breast surgeon who will bring new ideas, skills, and perspective to our forward thinking team. This candiate should qualify for the rank of the Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in the surgical management of breast cancer and breast disease. Responsibilities include seeing patients in the outpatient clinic at one or more of our office locations and performing both same day and in-patient surgery cases at the attending level. Applicants should be committed to a robust clinical practice within a dynamic academic medical center and motivated to engage in clinical and translational research at our Cancer Center. In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent will teach medical students, residents, fellows, and physician extenders. Responsibilities include participation in the academic, and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery. Our Breast Team provides the continuum of breast care, including diagnosis, cancer treatment, and high risk management. Multidisciplinary care is planned and provided in our cancer institute supported by a Breast Oncology Leadership Team, as well as weekly Breast Tumor Board. Our program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, as well as the NAPBC. QUALIFIED REQUIREMENTS : MD, DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Candidates must be Board Eligible/Certified in General Surgery and must be licensed to practice or eligible for a license in the State of New York. Completion of an accredited Breast Fellowship or Surgical Oncology Fellowship. Academic rank will commensurate with experience and academic qualifications.
