Lecturer - Restorative Dentistry FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Lecturer in the Restorative Dentistry Department, to begin during the Fall 2025 semester. This is a full-time position leading to a certificate of continuous employment. The Restorative Dentistry department has five full-time faculty, nineteen part-time faculty members, 1 full time College Laboratory Technician (CLT) four adjunct CLTs and one administrative assistant. The department offers an Associate in Applied Science degree (AAS) in Dental Laboratory Technology. The Restorative Dentistry program at NYCCT is accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry, the responsibilities of the Lecturer will include but not be limited to: Teaching laboratory or lecture courses in Dental Laboratory Technology. Preparing course material for efficient and effective lecture and laboratory sessions. Evaluation and feedback of student projects. Academic advisement, guidance, committee and departmental assignments, and professional development. Service to the college, university, and professional community, including participation in college, department, school and community groups, and in local, regional, and national dental laboratory technology organizations. Participation in ongoing recruitment activities such as high school visits, open houses and professional show activities. Preparing students to enter the dental laboratory workforce. The ability to work a flexible schedule is expected; day, evening, and weekend teaching and other department duties may be required. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master???s Degree or higher in appropriate related field is preferred. Certified by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology as required by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. At least 5 years full time professional practice experience in a position of responsibility in a dental laboratory. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and aptitude to demonstrate core competencies to students. Strong foundation in laboratory education, and ability to advance the laboratory skills, professional development, and evidence and practice-based knowledge of dental technology students. COMPENSATION $69,983 - $88,998. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
