The Data Management Manager, will manage database administration and data warehousing initiatives and efforts for a department and/or foundation including design, development and implementation. The Data Management Manager: Manages the database administration function. Designs, develops and implements all systems and supported databases for the department/foundation. Performs routine maintenance and administration. Develops and implements appropriate protocols to ensure the security, integrity and consistency of the supported databases. Assists in establishing standards relative to data storage and presentation. Communicates and negotiates with other data managers to ensure that the development and implementation of data repositories is done with a balance of openness, integration, security and cost effectiveness. Manages the department/foundation?s data warehousing function. Designs, develops and implements a common data dictionary. Analyzes end user requirements for data warehousing reports and analytical facilities. Designs, develops and implements data warehousing components and end user deliverables Assists department/foundation leaders with the development of annual budgets and schedules to meet the overall data management needs. Projects the cost of data management projects and assigns staff as needed to meet department/foundation?s goals and obligations Interviews, selects, promotes, disciplines and discharges supervisory employees in accordance with personnel policy and practice. Reviews performance appraisals and proposed merit increases ensuring consistency amongst subordinate employees and with other staff in the department. Keeps abreast of research and development in the information technology and analytics industry by reading journals, attending To qualify, you must have: Bachelor?s Degree required Minimum 5 years of previous experience in IT management and database administration or data warehousing Identification and resolution of important, highly-complex ethical, strategic, and/or operating problems which require innovative solutions based on extensive, cross-functional knowledge of the healthcare industry. Ability to effectively manage the employees within assigned department/division and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level department heads and/or with external agencies/facilities on issues and programs that impact assigned department as well as several other large departments/divisions.
