Pharmacy Practice Lab Coordinator | University of Iowa - Military Veterans

The Pharmacy Practice Lab Coordinator p rovides administrative and technical support for the instructors teaching in the Pharmacy Practice Laboratory (PPL). Manages medication and lab supply inventory. Completes daily set-up of professional activities for teaching lab, supply management, coordination of grading, and management of teaching technology. Schedule, instruct, and assign work for teaching assistants. Represents the interests of the university and of unit leadership in the use of resources to meet service and productivity demands within unit goals and budgets? strive to promote continual process and quality improvement. Key Areas of Responsibility Develop Instructional Materials Plan, material acquisition and preparation, and pre-course administration of core courses associated with the PPL, working collaboratively with course instructors. Develop necessary case-based materials for incorporation into Pharmacy Practice Learning Center (PPLC) courses, using EHR Go and other resources. Plan, laboratory set-up and pre-course administration for Foundations of Pharmacy Practice and Applications of Pharmacy Practice courses. Coordinate with faculty to integrate PPL activities associated with other courses; and coordinate the pharmacy resident participants into the teaching and evaluation activities. Instruct, Train, Consult, Support Manage learning management system (ICON) access and courses, grade, and track assignments. Coordinate the integration of the Pharmacy Educators Preparation Program for Residents participants into the teaching and evaluations activities of the PPL. Assist in the preparation and dissemination of assignments and activities and participate in activities as requested. Attend scheduled team meetings. Facilities/Technology Management Utilize and manage computer technology in the PPL including course management systems, Microsoft 365, healthcare simulation software and other emerging technology. Coordinate and collaborate with information technology staff to ensure technology is available and working properly for course delivery. Operational Management Daily setup, organization, cleanup, and close teaching labs. Procure and maintain supplies and equipment using a variety of vendors. Manage operational budget and reconcile expenses. Develop and submit course fee requests. Print, file, and maintain records and other materials pertinent to area of responsibility. Supervision Plan, schedule, train, assign work, instruct, and check and approve work of the teaching assistants and academic rotation students. Experience Required Typically, 1-3 years of administration, program, operational support, or course management experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with computer technology and software such as course learning management systems and Microsoft 365 (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams). Desirable Qualifications Degree in education or a health-related field. Experience in instructional support, administrative assistant role, or health-related field.
