Department Summary Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) services are designed to foster the development of healthy well-being necessary for success in a complex global environment. We are pleased to offer a variety of services to meet your needs including: Crisis counseling available by phone 24 hours a day/7 days a week, Emergency intervention, Individual counseling and psychotherapy, Group therapy, Psychiatric evaluation and treatment, Psychoeducational programs and workshops for students, staff and faculty, and Campus mental health and wellness promotion. Position Summary The UCLA CAPS Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program is one-year part-time non-accredited psychiatry training program which provides specialized advanced training for psychiatrists in the evaluation and management of college mental health. The fellowship usually starts on August 1 and ends on July 31. The incumbent supports the mission of UCLA Counseling incumbent provides medical services to clients including evaluations, medication management, emergency intervention; provides consultation to non-psychiatric staff; participates in meetings and committees; carries out necessary charting requirements; and accepts overall direction from the Fellowship Director. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Minimum four years postgraduate training in general psychiatry and Board- Eligible in Psychiatry (Required) Basic medical skills in diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric medical illness (Required) Skilled in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illness. - Required Excellent work habits; ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality (Required) Ability to learn and master CAPS computer software such as PNC and other software as needed (Preferred) Strong interpersonal skills - Required Demonstrated ability to work as part of a mental health team in an interdisciplinary environment. (Required) Demonstrated ability to recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action. (Required) Ability to adhere to professional ethics, maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all department policies, HIPAA and compliance requirements (Required) Continued employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory credentialing and background investigation (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
