Accountable for all sourcing and contract management for the Lab Services, Tech, Equipment and Analytical Testing categories, supporting both Opex and Capex purchases across R&D and QC laboratories. This will include the development and implementation of category strategies; the contracting for master/service/product agreements within the categories in scope and identification of appropriate buying channels; the management of supplier relationships that fall within scope and outside of the enterprise SRM structure for categories in scope and for ensuring the suppliers key to the categories commit to deliver GSK's performance/quality/financial requirements. The individual will directly manage a team of 3 Global Category Managers and interact with several regional managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complex sourcing and category management role in GSK

• Key role in Strategy Development

• Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance; m anages / monitors ongoing negotiations with 3rd parties

• Will work across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness

• Champions the sourcing group management process and policies across functions and links these to GSK's strategic direction

• Knows and utilises complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements

• Implements and supports procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage

• Significant external supplier knowledge

• Manage the end-to-end process to challenge sourcing approach and scope of the business requirements. Challenge and drive continuous improvements with in-house Vs third party Vs outsourcing approach.

• Manage category strategies and collaborate where there are synergies with other global procurement groups and/or categories Direct & Sites, FC&L, Staffing, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree: Procurement, Business, Finance
  • 10+ plus or more years of global procurement experience
  • Experience in procurement supporting global Capex and Opex activities
  • Experience with negotiation and contract management skills.
  • English proficiency (written and oral), other languages will be a plus
  • Leadership/communication skills
  • Stakeholder management skills


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Master's degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills
