The Associate Director, Leadership and Internal Communications plays a crucial role partnering closely with senior business leaders in shaping and deploying strategic communications in support of our vast and growing Human Health business. This position offers an opportunity to serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner in driving important communication initiatives, and help the company achieve its business goals. It requires a strategic thinker with strong writing skills and the ability to manage high-profile communications with senior executives and external stakeholders. This individual will support the execution of communications strategies across Human Health, including employee and external communications. This individual is also highly collaborative and works across various business sectors and geographies to ensure consistent communications programs and materials.
The Associate Director will report to the Director, Executive and Corporate Communications.
Scope of work and core responsibilities
- Develop and support the implementation of internal and executive communication strategies for the Human Health organization.
- Lead change communications across special projects and key business initiatives within Human Health.
- Provide strategic counsel to executives on media relations, public speaking and internal communications.
- Craft timely employee-facing communications for various internal channels, building awareness and understanding of company goals and strategic priorities.
- Ensure consistent and effective messaging across all executive communication platforms.
- Support senior leader media trainings for both internal and external engagements.
- Support internal communications for change management initiatives, as needed.
- Support crisis and issues management, as needed.
- Coordinate approvals of communications requests for Human Health leaders.
- Monitor and report on employee experience and engagement.
- Track progress on meeting internal and executive communication goals.
Required qualifications
- Accomplished communications professional with a minimum of six years of internal communications experience.
- Experience counseling corporate executives and key internal partners with best in-class communication practices, ensuring messaging is consistent across the organization.
- Background in prioritizing initiatives and driving communications results across various stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience writing and editing speeches, emails, video scripts, editorial and social content.
- Creative thinker who's willing to think outside the box.
- Organized with high attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills with proven success managing multiple, high-profile and significant projects.
- Proactive with ability to "see" around corners and anticipate needs of our executives.
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in employee and internal communications, public relations, external engagement and corporate reputation
- Experience in healthcare industry, including large Fortune 500 companies
- Experience at a PR agency or equivalent welcome
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$122,800.00 - $193,300.00
