Global Data Business Analyst - Military Veterans

This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and facilitating the creation of data marts to support end users and web development initiatives.
• Requirements Gathering:
o Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, data engineers, and web developers, to gather and document business requirements.
o Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit requirements and understand business needs.
Analysis and Documentation:
o Analyze business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
o Develop detailed business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications.
Technical Translation:
o Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data engineers and developers.
o Work closely with the data engineering team to design and implement data marts that meet business needs.
Project Management:
o Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear understanding and alignment.
o Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at various levels.
Quality Assurance:
o Develop and execute test plans to ensure data solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
o Identify and resolve issues related to data quality and integrity.
Assist in the creation of User-Centric Designs:
o Create intuitive designs that prioritize effective data visualization, ensuring that information is presented in a clear and accessible manner.
o Focus on avoiding data overload by simplifying complex data sets and enabling users to easily consume information and facilitate a deeper understanding of the data while maintaining an engaging user experience.
Assist in the Creation Prototypes for User Feedback:
o Develop interactive prototypes and mockups of design solutions to facilitate user testing and gather feedback.
o Use insights from user interactions to iterate and refine designs, ensuring that final products align with user needs and expectations.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, computer science, or related field
o Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
o Proven experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
o Experience with data marts, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
o Familiarity with web development processes and technologies.
Nice to Have:
Experience in a data engineering or data warehousing environment.
Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) are a plus.
