Job Description:
The Pharmacy Technician provides assistance to the Pharmacist staff in all daily duties while complying with State and Federal laws and Pharmacy policies and procedures. These duties include providing courteous service, maintaining a clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area, collecting and entering patient information into QS1, interpreting prescription orders and their preparation. The technician also manages incoming telephone calls, providing necessary information, or directs them to the appropriate staff. Other duties include managing inventory levels, placing orders with wholesalers, and maintaining appropriate cash controls and internal/external billing.
The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated ability and willingness to work in and support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician II required
- Maintain continuing education credits for Rhode Island and national certification.
- Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience required; experience with QS1 pharmacy software preferred

- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team
- Remain up to date on required trainings: HIPAA, FWA, PCI-DSS, Blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste training
