Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Financial Analyst.
Senior Financial Analyst Sr FA will report to the Manager of the Cell Biology Finance Team. The Sr FA is responsible for the monitoring and review of all financial activities and grants management oversight as related to their Principal Investigator Portfolio. This includes but is not limited to sponsored projects management preparation and distribution of financial portfolios for investigators effort review and reporting budget and subcontract preparation and set up and preparation and closeout of grant accounts. The Sr FA will also be responsible for monthly reporting and ad hoc projects.
Job Responsibilities:
1 Daily financial management of all grant accounts Review and approve all purchases related to grants Assists as necessary with justification of purchases on grant accounts
2 Prepare financial portfolios for investigators financial summary detailed financial projections statement of lab staff support and extramural funding levels according to department requirements
3 Upon receipt of new award notice send out terms of award notice to investigators to ensure study is compliant with terms and prepare project budgets for newly awarded grants along with preparation of subcontract arrangements
4 Facilitate annual progress reports and final close out of grant accounts to sponsor and transfer of grants for incoming investigators and outgoing investigators
5 Review time and effort allocation with all grant related personnel and assist with the certification Assist investigators with all sponsor audits; process and documentation
6 Lead Analyst on complex grants housed within the department This includes detailed monitoring of PI effort levels expense review detailed budget modifications and request of prior approvals from sponsor when needed
7 Prepare and distribute monthly research update reports to leadership such as the Monthly Deliverable Report and Projects with No Activity Report etc
8 Liaison between SPA PI research finance and department leadership regarding financial matters i e subcontract budgets carry forward balances etc
9 Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree with a major in a business subject e g accounting finance economics and 3 5 years of related experience. Other minimum qualifications include: excellent oral and written communication skills analytical skills problem solving skills and a comprehensive knowledge all applications within Microsoft Office; specifically with Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
The Senior Financial Analyst will have a comprehensive understanding of research administration with In depth knowledge of Uniform Guidance and other research regulatory requirements specifically the Uniform Administrative Requirements Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards Experience with PeopleSoft preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $85,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
