SCOPE OF POSITION OSUs Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health conducts innovative research focused on understanding the individual and social factors that promote growth and resilience, while also translating scientific discoveries into practical strategies to improve the lives of individuals and communities. The Psychotherapist serves as a critical part of our clinical research program by delivering psychological treatments within the context of research studies and clinical trials designed to enhance recovery from severe mental health conditions (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder, major depressive disorder) and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Research studies are supported by a range of sponsors including the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, private foundations, and industry. POSITION SUMMARY Clinical and education position, including, but not limited to: Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for patients with mental health complaints. Within the context of approved research studies, provide psychotherapy to individuals with mental & behavioral disorders to facilitate return to previous or improved functioning. Services provided include individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and/or couple/family therapy. Formulate individualized treatment plans to assist patients to determine and meet treatment goals. Follow research protocols developed by study investigators. Other duties include advocating within local community if needed; work as part of clinical team; and complete all necessary paperwork (e.g., disability, FMLA). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Personalized Performance Plan (P3) Key Result Areas of Innovation & Strategic Growth, Quality & Safety, People, Productivity & Efficiency, and Service & Reputation are interwoven throughout the position description. Minimum Education Required: Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biological sciences, health sciences or medical field. Required Qualifications: Masters Degree in biological sciences, health sciences or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; three to five years experience in a clinical research capacity conducting clinical research studies required; experience in a progressively responsible management capacity in a medical research environment preferred; experience or knowledge in psychology and psychiatry preferred; clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency required; computer skills required with experience using Microsoft Software applications desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
