Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced Electrical Mechanic to join our F/A-18 team in San Antonio, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components
- Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
- Determine equipment malfunctions to restore equipment condition and or operation
- interpret technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals
- Perform on and off aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components
- Perform complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables and fiber optic wiring
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and environmental systems depot maintenance level
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option (San Antonio, TX).
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of experience in aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components
- 10+ years of experience with shop practices, electrical/electronic theories and systems
- 10+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair
- 10+ years of experience accessing aircraft computer data systems to initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests
- Able to work variable shifts
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with F-18/Fighter or Depot Level/Modification maintenance
- Active Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).
Typical Experience/Education:
High school diploma or GED and typically 10+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area (San Antonio, TX) or relocate at their own expense.

Summary Pay Rate: $77,314 - $37.17 per hour
Additive Pay: $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification
$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
