Who will you be working with?
Wabtec's Digital Intelligence KinetiX business boasts an industry-leading portfolio of wayside solutions, which facilitate the automated, proactive monitoring of the rolling stock condition, providing data that can be processed to effectively assess rolling stock condition from component level to full train inspection. As the leader of a global team of Program Managers, you will lead a high-performing team in the successful delivery of the full portfolio of KinetiX programs and projects. You will be working alongside a senior cross-functional team, collectively tasked with delivering critical business outcomes.
How will you make a difference?
As the leader of the KinetiX Program Management team, you will be responsible and accountable for the successful execution of P&L's full portfolio of projects and programs, including both customer programs and internal R&D programs. This responsibility includes the delivery of programs, management of P&L financials & budgets, customer & stakeholder management, process improvement & change management, amongst others. You will be expected to develop and actively leverage KPIs to assess and improve the performance of both your PM team as well as the P&L. Additionally, this role will be responsible for representing the KinetiX business in various reviews with senior Wabtec executives.
What do we want to know about you?
• BS Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
• 10-12 years of experience in Project/Program Management, with a minimum of 5 years leading a team or several teams of project/program managers
• Impeccable grasp of Project Management fundamentals and a passion for driving awareness of, and adherence to, those fundamentals
• Demonstrated and proven leadership abilities, to include driving improved performance of individual team members and whole teams
• Proven capability and results that demonstrate a strong ability to drive organizational, cross-functional change and maturity
• Extreme ownership and accountability for all responsibilities
• Proven ability to diffuse challenging situations and encounters with customers
• Executive-level verbal and written communication skills
• Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, and/or industry activities.
• Expertise with program planning/management systems/tools; particular emphasis on capacity planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
What will your typical week look like?
• 1:1 meetings with each of your team members to provide a forum to hear their challenges, provide guidance, and remove barriers to enable them to be successful
• Establishing and leading a cadence of operational meetings, to include reviews/touchpoints for revenue tracking, performance KPIs, demand planning, resource prioritization, and others
• Jumping in to help your PMs with specific challenges or customer escalations, to ensure successful outcomes
• Meeting with senior stakeholders from other functions to ensure alignment of the program team with the rest of the business
• Leading regularly scheduled program reviews, with a focus on milestone achievement, budget adherence, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation
• Representing the company as a senior customer program interface
• Providing forums for training to your team and the broader organization
• Working to implement processes and initiatives to reduce risk and improve the maturity of the organization
• Leading efforts to identify risks and opportunities, develop plans, and apply countermeasures to improve our position
• Sending concise reports to the Senior Director of Operations and Program Management to provide awareness of key risks and challenges
• Optimizing customer relationships through the program life cycle. Foster long-term, customer-centric relationships.
• Travel required to/from intercompany, supplier, and customer offices.
