The Work
In this role, you will perform the following:
System Testing: Collaborate with systems and software engineers to assist in the coordination, preparation, witnessing, and post-testing of results. Conduct static code analysis of security testing results and assist with peer reviews to enhance system security and software quality.
Requirements Analysis: Support working sessions for the inspection of source code by external customers, focusing on software assurance analysis of mission-critical functions, including Critical Program Information (CPI) and Anti-Tamper (AT) to be implemented in training systems devices.
Documentation: Develop Security Assessment Evaluation Reports (SAERs) and review Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) to document vulnerabilities, risks, and threats identified during security testing and evaluation. Apply grading scales to categorize software flaws and assess their impact on software assurance.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, systems architects, and project managers to achieve project milestones and deliverables. Provide support for penetration testing teams through monitoring and escorting.
Risk Management: Facilitate working sessions and help respond to Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) items for Application Secure Development (ASD) in order to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging technologies, software development practices, and industry best practices. Apply this knowledge to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of F-35 software systems.
Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, cybersecurity protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure the integrity and security of all systems.

You bring a proven track record of success in software development, with expertise in languages like C#/C++, Python, or PowerShell. You have a solid understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards, and you possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field
- 5 years of professional experience or 3 years of professional experience with a related master's degree
- Designing, coding, and debugging applications in various software languages (C#/C++, Bash, Ansible, Python, or Powershell)
- Experience with static and dynamic code analysis
- DoD 8570/8140 compliance certification (Sec+ or equivalent)
- Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance at the Secret level.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge in fault tolerance software and RMF compliance with Fortify
- Experience in automating secure systems to support cyber offensive, defense and full spectrum cyber operations
- Knowledge of software architectures & processing approaches
- Experience with SBOM creation and validation
- Experience with Security Assessment Evaluation Reports (SAERs)
- Experience with virtualized environments and containers
- Hardware/Software Integration
- Demonstrate verbal & written communication skills
- Experience working in an AGILE environment
- Experience using JIRA/Confluence Atlassian web-based tools
- Gitlab/Github Continuous Integration & Continuous Development
- CI/CD Implementation & Application
- Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies, including version control systems (e.g., Agile/Scrum, and DevSecOps practices)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
