NYU Langone Health, a world-class, patient-centered, integrated, academic medical center, is one of the nation's premier centers for excellence in clinical care, biomedical research and medical education.  The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Health is seeking a Medical Director of Mother-Baby Unit at NYU Langone Hospital- Brooklyn.


 


The Medical Director of the Mother Baby Unit is a seasoned obstetrician who demonstrates strong knowledge and skills in the practice of obstetrics and patient safety.  The Medical Director of the Mother-Baby Unit will collaborate with the Chief of Service and Associate Chief of Service to oversee the quality and safety within the Mother Baby Unit and oversee the day-to-day operations of Unit in collaboration with administrative and nursing leadership.  Responsibilities include responding to and resolving patient concerns, providing direction for improving quality, safety and patient experience in the unit, and achieving compliance with unit metrics established by health system leadership. The Medical Director will work to continue to improve the patient experience scores of the unit,  assist with onboarding and training new staff, monitoring perinatal core measures, participate in RCAs and related quality improvement forums and collaborate with Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Neonatology, etc. 


 

The role provides for 0.2 FTE of administrative leadership effort, which is approximately one day per week, and the remainder of the time will be dedicated to clinical care.

Salary: $300,000 to $400,000.  The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors

Candidates should be Board certified with credentials commensurate with faculty appointment at the assistant professor or associate professor level.  Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to academic medicine and patient care as well as fellow, resident and medical student education.  This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is seeking a position that combines both academic and clinical care.  Requirements include successful completion of a U.S. accredited OB/GYN residency and a NY State Medical license.
