Nursing Clinical Coordinator
Classification Summary:
This class is responsible for facilitating assigned learning programs. Responsibilities may include: maintain Clinical Affiliation Agreements as current documents; supervising adjunct instructors; developing relationships with agencies to support nursing program; overseeing the overall student learning experience; and utilizing departmental clerical staff in correspondence, record maintenance, and other support as needed.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience:
Licensing Requirements: Certification as required by program.
Classification Duties:
1. Supervise clinical adjunct instructors including the hiring process, orientation, payroll approval, and assessment of ongoing competencies. (C5)
2. Develop relationships with clinical agencies to support departmental program outcomes and course clinical exit competencies. (C4)
3. Initiate and maintain evaluation of clinical sites and instructors for each rotation. (C4)
4. Maintain oversight of the overall clinical experience through routine site visits, supervision of clinical instructional staff, and collaboration with full-time course faculty. (C4)
5. Develop calendars/dates for orientation, required training, and overall clinical experience in close collaboration with full-time course faculty, program director, and clinical site. (C4)
6. Function as liaison for college with clinical facilities and instructors; ensure students/faculty orientation meets clinical site requirements. (B2)
7. Oversee background checks and health records for students; forwarding records to clinical facilities within FERPA guidelines. (B2)
8. Track student attendance in the clinical setting including recording of absenteeism in the college's electronic system and notification to students per program policy, (in collaboration with appropriate Level Coordinator). (B2)
9. Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
