Job Description
Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are looking for a trained Technologist to join our innovative laboratory!
Role Overview:
- Works closely with various laboratories (Histology, IHC, Cytogenetics, Molecular, Flow) within DPLM to coordinate testing
- Utilize hematopathology algorithms, test ordering guidelines, reporting guidelines and practice information; Correlate morphologic findings with clinical history.
- Review requisitions and order entry orders, verify accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into computer.
- Perform morphological review on bone marrow aspirate and biopsy specimens as well as tissue specimens and peripheral blood smears
- Create concise and accurate reports using hematopathology templates for review and presentation to hematopathologist
- Determine if ancillary testing is necessary based on differential diagnosis and may assist with placing ancillary order as requested by pathologist
- Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files; Create neat, accurate, well-formatted documents.
- Prepare results for analysis and enter test results into the computer, with minimal supervision.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Sciences, or Biological, Chemical or Physical Sciences
- 5 years' experience as a NYS Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist OR 4 years with a Masters' degree
- Experience in morphological identification of bone marrow aspirates is preferred not required.
- Experience in immunohistochemistry and performing peripheral blood differential count is preferred not required.

Additional Information:
- Sunday - Thursday 10-6pm.
- 37.5 hours per week;
Pay Range: $50.11-$80.21
