National Service Engineer - Military Veterans

at RecruitMilitary Placement Services

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in our client's National Field Service Department, focusing on evaluating and maintaining cutting-edge products, solving technical challenges, and providing essential support to various stakeholders. Reporting to the Assistant Technical Director, the role requires extensive travel and hands-on expertise in industrial equipment.

The National Service Engineer evaluates new products and parts for usability, service, and practicality. In collaboration with the technical service support and product management departments, they play a pivotal role in identifying solutions for technical issues. Responsibilities include, inspecting warranty-returned items, assisting with in-house and on-site compressor performance tests, and providing technical assistance to branches, distributors, and customers. Additionally, the engineer supports company training initiatives and troubleshoots via phone and email, as well as ensuring compliance with company quality and environmental standards.

This is not a regular field service role. This is the highest escalation within the company for visibility and proper deployment of engineering-based concerns. Regular service technicians focus on preventative maintenance and processes. This role is the tip of the spear regarding engineering excellence. In some cases, you may be the first person to investigate and deploy a new repair process, working hand in hand with the international research & development team. Again, this role is for someone who truly desires to be a hands-on engineer, and thrives within that cutting-edge environment.

Military candidates should have substantial experience in electro-mechanical systems, as technologies are constantly being developed. Military candidates experienced with electrical systems such as variable frequency drives or electrical motors will do well. Mechanical candidates who understand rotating mechanical systems that deploy pneumatics, hydraulics, and compressors will be ideal. If you have HVAC and/or EPA certification experience, please highlight that in your inquiry.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. You will often be documenting or updating new processes, so effective communication is imperative. It would be best if you had strong computer literacy using software such as Google Workspace, and the ability to update systems in a system like SAP is also desirable. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Please note that this role is primarily office-based in their corporate office. However, the role does require travel and hands-on work to troubleshoot and repair when needed, across the entire US. Thus, the role does have physical requirements: regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting items up to fifty pounds. Applicants must be capable of working in various positions, including kneeling or crawling and have excellent hand dexterity and vision for detailed tasks.

This role is ideal for professionals seeking a challenging and rewarding environment that values technical expertise and innovation. The extensive travel and collaboration opportunities make this position highly engaging for those passionate about hands-on problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

For military veterans, this position aligns perfectly with the technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving capabilities honed in the service. Veterans' ability to follow procedures, adapt to diverse environments, and handle high-responsibility roles makes them exceptional candidates for this opportunity.

Base salary, $70K - $90K, plus overtime. Medical, dental, and vision coverage and a 401k and additional retirement plans.

The company has a strong track record for hiring a growing number of exceptional military candidates from RecruitMilitary.
