Akima Data Management (ADM) has an opportunity for a detail-oriented Project Analyst in support of the U.S. Department of Education’s Information Assurance Services (IAS) Division. The Project Analyst must possess exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as demonstrated proficiency in writing. This role requires a driven and proactive professional with the ability to work both independently and with a team. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the ADM team and government client to complete requirements with little oversight.
  • Prepare and presenting briefings and reports 
  • Support Senior ED Leaders and management in their negotiation of ED budget proposals, policy positions, data collection and audit initiatives within the federal realm.
  • Monitor and analyze data to track operating programs, and evaluating their effectiveness for strategic goals, and plan improvements.  
    Monitor and evaluate operating units and activities to determine compliance with applicable directives, procedures and policies.
  • Work with the team and take lead where required in the planning, coordination, marketing, and thorough preparation of Division and Department-wide events such as the Department’s Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, and IAS instructional sessions and workshops.
  • Organize, manage, and maintain critical documents and records, ensuring compliance and content clarity.
  • Work with the Knowledge Manager to assist in the standardization and compliance of written content owned by the Division.
  • Collaborate with SMEs as needed to develop written content such as Division-wide email communications, web page content, instructional guidance, etc.
  • Draft clear and concise written content for final review.
  • Comprehend complex ED writing styles, financial matters and policy issues to assist Government employees with all levels of correspondence.
  • Create, review, and refine technical documents and reports.
  • Engage Division leadership to facilitate development of positions and strategies to promote policy priorities.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless workflow and communication
  • Conduct policy analyses to provide a better understanding of the implications of alternative policy approaches and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Keep senior management informed of progress or programs and advising of significant developments impacting plans.  
  • Maintain a continuous liaison with other agencies, ED offices to ensure communication and mission directives are integrated throughout.

Qualifications

  • Education or experience in office or organizational management
  • College Degree preferred
    Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust Clearance
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail, including follow-up on pending tasks 

    and the ability to track end-to-end processes for the flow of task-related information.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, to include template conversion, and ensuring 508 compliance in Word and PDF
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent document and repository management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Ability to lead coordination efforts across various tasks and projects
  • Proficiency in notetaking and documenting detailed meeting minutes
  • Willing to learn new skills and tools when required
  • Must have experience working from home and demonstrating excellent time management skills and on-time task completion
  • Knowledge of SharePoint or webpage design is an advantage
  • Experience in technical writing, content development, and/or content layout is an advantage

Pay Range

$100,000 - $115,000
