The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Operations Materials Quality Engineer with a commitment to excellence and the energy to help develop a world class raw material supply line for the industries most advanced CMP IC Slurries . This position will support the Materials Solutions Division and drive raw material quality to the next level in support of advanced N2 and beyond CMP applications . In this role, the candidate's primary responsibilities include using statistical techniques in data analysis to prevent and problem solve raw material driven non-conformances while also supporting Product Management, Production Engineering and Customer Quality teams through the creation of OCAPs, technical reports and presentations . This position will represent the Materials Quality Organization at customer meetings for issue investigation when needed . The candidate must be able to work with significant autonomy and independent judgement to achieve Global Materials Quality goals and Entegris corporate goals in ensuring the continuity of supply chains and delivering of consistent high performance CMP slurries.
In this role you will:
- Contributes to statistical process control for critical raw material parameters - selection of charts, calculation of control limits, SPC rules, triggering rules and reaction guides.
- Generates, analyzes, and reports on raw material quality within the assigned product line areas, including Pareto, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Studies.
- Constantly uses or applies statistical techniques in data analysis prior to material usage in operations to decrease customer OCAP and eliminate customer line stoppage.
- Develops, analyzes, and reports statistical data, relative to quality systems performance and implementation, ensuring customer expectations are maintained .
- Leads 8D Problem Solving Teams in the failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective and preventative action activities for raw material driven defect resolution . Ensures closure of corrective actions within timing goals .
- Supports customer inquiries or excursions by doing detailed data analysis of raw material data, finding links to customer performance issues, and supporting OCAP preparation. Implement any necessary corrective actions in a timely manner .
- Supports and maintains raw material failure analysis process, ensuring feedback and corrective action communication and implementation is consistent with customer expectations.
- Coordinates with Global Materials Quality Engineering team to facilitate root cause investigation with the supplier or drive process improvement objectives . Co-leads direct to supplier communications during critical customer investigations.
- Holds and participates in material disposition decisions coordinating all on hold activities to ensure no escapee to customer during quality issue review.
- Works with Production/Engineering for effective evaluation of non-NC product to ensure appropriate disposition .
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Technical -
- Must have a solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methods, problem solving techniques, SPC, and FMEA.
- Technical understanding of colloidal suspensions and polymer processes
- Ability to focus and summarize complex data sets towards key decision points (actions)
- Experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Statistical software such as Minitab, JMP, SAS
Business -
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills are required .
- Ability to develop and foster strong business relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and must possess a sense of urgency in satisfying internal and external customer needs.
Other -
- Education - B. S Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science. Advanced degree is a plus. Six-Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Experience - 5-8 years of related inorganic or organic chemical manufacturing or related experience.
- Experience in semiconductor, microelectronics, or high-tech industry preferred.
- Full professional proficiency in English communication . Additional proficiency in Korean and/or Japanese a plus.
- Project management experience a plus .
- Travel up to 5% of the time, including international travel if required
