This is a hybrid opportunity at our Arlington, TX office (AOC1) - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote

PRODUCT OWNER III - DATA QUALITY

As a member of the Data Governance Products team, the Product Owner is responsible for the vision and success of the organization's Data Quality capabilities and their delivery. The Product Owner directs and coordinates the product development and serves as a collaborative liaison between Data Governance leadership, Product Stakeholders, and Product Delivery teams by prioritizing and evaluating work. This individual will maintain the product/team backlog, leading backlog prioritization of initiatives, aligning experiences across channels and touch points to ensure the best business results.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develops and communicates the vision of what is possible within the Data Quality product scope
  • Acts proactively to consistently deliver on commitments with little supervision
  • Leads data improvement initiatives, processes, and creation of tools in line with requirements
  • Supports activities to drive Data Quality measurement, produce Data Quality dashboards and reports, and implement Data Quality strategies to effectively govern data and improve Data Quality
  • Analyzes and communicates customer requirements to provide innovative solutions and recommend system, product and process enhancements
  • Liaises with business and technical teams to understand data challenges and solutions, and/or run data consumption demand and requirements
  • Leads day to day activities to support data quality resolution, and to optimize metrics reporting process
  • Define and support Data Quality issue resolution processes
  • Explores alternative ways to view and solve problems to achieve results beyond what is required
  • Focus on constantly improving processes, products, and services and exploring innovative ways to do the job
  • Takes advantage of opportunities to try unique ways of doing things and test promising ideas to find new solutions
  • Seeks to understand and experience the full array of stakeholders' (e.g., internal partners, suppliers, customers) behavior, needs, concerns, and desires to unlock new opportunities for innovation
  • Communicates potential benefits of new ideas to stakeholders
  • Fosters a participative, empowered environment to gain acceptance of ideas or plans using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods
  • Partners with vendor(s) and internal departments to ensure tasks are defined and documented with timely deliverables and within SLA
  • Communicates with all levels of leadership, internal business partners and external vendor(s) regarding project status and production performance
  • Works with the Agile delivery team to craft high quality customer-centric user stories
  • Leads the prioritization of the product backlog in partnership with product management
  • Measure product performance using key information, processes and systems to ensure accountability for achieving business results
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience
  • Thorough understanding of Vision/Roadmap creation, Portfolio/Program/Team Backlog creation, refinement and prioritization
  • Thorough knowledge of Data Quality dimensions, rules, measurements, and tools
  • Experience with defining and implementing data quality programs
  • Proficiency in data profiling, validation, standardization, and cleansing
  • Strong experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements to technology partners
  • Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Quality and related tools
  • Experience with cloud data technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Databricks
  • Experience designing and implementing IDQ/CDQ rules, mapplets, scorecards, and data quality validation checks

Skills
  • Ability to effectively define Product roadmaps and identify requirements
  • Ability to understand and navigate business and technology environments and orchestrate deliverables
  • Ability to monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes, with the ability to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Proficient persuasive and negotiation skills
  • Proficient presentation skills

Experience and Education
  • 4-6 years experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum team required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree or additional equivalent work or military experience preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY

GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada.  In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015.  In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.

 

GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
