Digital Project & Operations Lead

Hearst Media Production Group is seeking an experienced, full-time Digital Project & Operations Lead to join our digital team. This role oversees day-to-day operations, paid & organic campaign performance, and bridges the gap between creative and production teams for a diverse slate of shows. You will work closely and act as a liaison between the Digital team and productions, business development and finance. From budget planning to KPI tracking, this position ensures seamless execution of digital strategies that comply with regulations and deliver measurable results. This role requires a candidate who thrives in fast-paced environments and can adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on deliverables.

This position reports to the Digital Director and is based on-site in our new, state-of-the-art office in Glendale, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and oversee project timelines, ensuring on-time and quality deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Execute and coordinate media buys with digital media agencies; monitor campaign performance, budgets, and KPIs, identifying efficiencies, issues, and cost savings.
  • Plan, track, and report digital budgets and expenses, ensuring alignment with financial goals and flagging potential overages.
  • Partner with business affairs and business development to support contract conversations, track obligations, and ensure compliance.
  • Support business development with pitch development, client onboarding, and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze social media KPIs to assess show performance, flag underperforming content, and recommend improvements. Provide actionable reports with data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Act as liaison between the digital team, production teams, and showrunners to facilitate communication, identify upcoming shoots, content opportunities, and enhance collaboration.
  • Submit requests for creative assets and manage delivery deadlines and distribution.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Content Strategy Manager and Digital Director on creation and presentation of strategy decks, defining yearly KPIs, and content ideation.
  • Assist with evaluating vendors, tools, and platforms to recommend improvements and efficiencies in workflows and digital processes.


Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, project management, creative agency account management or a related field.
  • Media/entertainment industry or creative advertising agency experience a plus
  • Spreadsheet analysis, Monday.com project management (or comparable software), and Social Media Management platform experience.


Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media marketing & media buying best practices on various platforms including, but not limited to: Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.
  • Able to stay highly organized while handling multiple projects, workflows and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Meta Business Suite, social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Experience with paid social media buying asset management and optimization processes.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to manage client and team relationships effectively.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with creative, business development, business affairs, technical, and production teams.


Education
  • Related experience and/or training will be considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
  • HMPG is a proud supporter of military veterans. Related military training and experience will be considered.


The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000 annualized. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
