Electrical Superintendent - Baledogle - Military Veterans

Our Client supports US Department of Defense LOGCAP projects in Africa. The Electrical Superintendent must possess Foreman skills, verifiable minimum experience and must hold accepted licensure/certification. The Professional in this position will be the most experienced, highest skilled Electrician, possess very good supervisory skills, and UK Citizenship.
Duties
- Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer's recommendations.
- Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials.
- Provides access for future maintenance, and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
- Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future wall, ceiling, and flooring construction.
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender.
- Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by electrician helper.
- Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps per accepted codes and standards.
- Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools.
- Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Connects power cables and ground leads to equipment and other electrical utilization equipment such as motors, HVAC units, etc.
- Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
- Provides supervision for multiple craft crews.
- Requires no supervision.
Experience & Qualifications
- United Kingdom Citizenship required.
- GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) or City and Guilds Institute of London; Pearson Edexcel GCSE; Oxford, Cambridge, and Royal Society of Arts GCSE; Northern Council for Further Education CACHE GCSE; and/or Associated Builders and Contractors awards equivalent to the GCSE (minimum) or A-Levels (preferred).
- Six to nine years' related and verifiable Licensed Electrician (minimum) or Master Electrician (preferred) work experience.
- Requires UK Joint Industry Board Electrician Licensure (minimum) UK Master Electrician's License (preferred).
- Pass: Wiring Regulations 18 th Edition Exam
- Pass: ECS Health and Safety Assessment
- Pass: AM2 Assessment of Occupational Competence
- Requires UK Licensed Electrician (minimum) or UK Master Electrician (preferred) job knowledge.
- Requires UK Licensed Electrician (minimum) or UK Master Electrician (preferred) skill level .
- Requires Electrical Superintendent physical ability necessary to perform Electrical Superintendent functions.
- Prefer previous Electrical Superintendent working experience.
