Job Summary: The Power Generation Journeyman is a crucial member of our team responsible for the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment. While a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, the primary qualifications for this position include a minimum of two (2) years of related experience and possessing the technical skills, job knowledge, and physical ability necessary to excel in the assigned job functions. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of power generation equipment to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of power generation equipment in accordance with project requirements and equipment specifications.
- Diagnose standby generator sets, system malfunctions, and service interruptions to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
- Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and repair of generators and associated facilities.
- Install, operate, maintain, and repair various types of power generators, including spot generators, standby generators, portable generators, and light carts.
- Complete electronic and manual work orders and reports as required to maintain accurate records.
- Provide task-level guidance to less experienced personnel as directed, contributing to their development and the overall team's success.
- Take responsibility for maintaining a fleet of power generators as assigned.
- May provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS) to support efficient data management.
- Perform duties in accordance with relevant regulations and operating manuals, including AR 750-1, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, AR 200–1, AR 58–1, AR 750-10, AR 750-6, DA Pam 750–8, TB MED 750-1, and TM–10, TM–20, TM-30, or manufacturer's instruction.
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in power generation or related field.
- Technical skills and job knowledge relevant to power generation equipment.
- Physical ability to perform assigned job functions, including lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of power generation equipment.
- Ability to diagnose standby generator sets, system malfunctions, and service interruptions.
- Commitment to performing routine maintenance and ensuring the cleanliness and operational integrity of generators and facilities.
- Experience in installing, operating, and maintaining various power generator types.
- Knowledge of spot generators, standby generators, portable generators, and light carts.
- Strong record-keeping skills with the ability to complete electronic and manual work orders and reports.
- Willingness to provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
- Responsible and reliable in maintaining a fleet of power generators as assigned.
- Capability to provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS) for effective data management.
- Knowledge of and adherence to relevant regulations and operating manuals.
