Job Title: Aviation Fire Crew Lead
Location: Niamey, Niger
Clearance: SF85 or above

Experience:
  • Must have 2 years' experience as a supervisor within a shift or station
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in firefighting operations
Certifications:
  • Firefighter I/II
  • Airport Firefighter
  • Hazardous Material (HazMat) Operations
  • HazMat Awareness
  • Fire Officer I
  • Fire Instructor I
  • Fire Inspector I
  • Driver/Operator (D/O) Pumper
  • D/O Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Fire Officer II (Preferred)
  • HazMat Incident Commander (Preferred)
  • Telecommunicator I and II (Preferred)
  • D/O Aerial
  • D/O Mobile Water Supply and other vehicles determined locally based on duty assignments
  • Marine Firefighter (Only required at F&ES departments without an aircraft firefighting mission)
  • Wildland Firefighting (Only required at F&ES departments with a wildland firefighting mission, as defined by the DoD)
Responsibilities:
  • Lead a Fire Services team in Fire Operations
  • Conduct aviation firefighting services to minimize loss of life and property
  • Control and extinguish fires using various equipment
  • Operate pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweeps nozzles, and other similar equipment
  • Use special protective gear in hazardous situations
  • Maintain accountability and responsibility of all individually assigned personal protective gear
  • Conduct daily inspections of personal protective gear for serviceability and accountability
  • Provide assistance and planning on Aircraft Rescue and Structural Firefighter (ARFF & Structural) operations and mission planning
  • Prepare and conduct training for military personnel on ARFF management operations and equipment
  • Maintain proficiencies, licenses, and certifications in accordance with regulations and guidance
  • Manage inventories of materials and equipment before, during, and after operations
  • Anticipate and plan for shortfalls in materials, equipment, and ARFF capabilities
  • Ensure all fire department members meet training and certification requirements outlined in regulations
  • Ensure the safety of all firefighters by following proper procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
  • Must possess a standard issue civilian driver's license
  • Must have a valid US Passport
  • Must be able to respond to rescue or fire alarms/notifications within 3 minutes
