Title: Heavy Truck Operator (Construction)

Summary: The construction industry relies heavily on skilled heavy truck operators to keep projects moving. In this role, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various heavy trucks used to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy trucks, such as dump trucks, concrete mixers, tractor-trailers, or specialized haul trucks, depending on the company and project needs.
- Transport construction materials like gravel, sand, dirt, asphalt, concrete, or prefabricated building materials.
- Load and unload materials, which may involve operating the truck's bed mechanisms or coordinating with loaders for assistance.
- Navigate various road conditions, including off-road terrain at construction sites.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working order.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of loads, routes, and deliveries.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other crew members.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a minimum Class B classification (endorsements may be required depending on the specific vehicles operated). National equivalents are acceptable.
- Clean driving record.
- US Passport/Must be a US National
- Experience operating heavy trucks in a construction environment (typically 2+ years).
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and safe driving practices.
- Excellent spatial awareness and ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces.
- Physically capable of performing tasks that require bending, lifting, and climbing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of construction materials and procedures (may be preferred by some employers).
- Heavy truck operators in construction typically work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The job can involve long hours, depending on project deadlines.
- Travel between different job sites is common.
- Physical stamina and adherence to safety regulations are essential for this role.
